Naturally Healthy Month

May 2017 was 'Naturally Healthy Month' in Devon and Somerset.

In the North Devon Biosphere alone there were over 30 events that provided a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy nature. Most were free. All were local and designed to help those at risk of, or suffering from, poor physical or mental health and/or those who do not habitually engage with the natural environment especially over 65s, children and young families.

They were a great
opportunity for all to get outside and let Nature Nurture in the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere Reserve with its amazing landscapes and rare and characteristic habitats and species. These are not just confined to places like Local Nature Reserves or Sites of Special Scientific Interest, but are all around us. We hope 'Naturally Healthy Month' was the perfect opportunity to enjoy them!

Over 150 people took part in events including people suffering with dementia and their carers, people receiving cardiac care from North Devon Hospital and pre-school children.

Promotion of the events was critical and a lot of emphasis was put into social media - Facebook and twitter. This was highly successful.
