Periodic Review
Every ten years Biosphere Reserves must compile a periodic review.
Work began in earnest on the North Devon Biosphere's periodic review early in 2013. Its aim is to set out how well the Biosphere is doing in maintaining/enhancing its special features (environmental, social, economic and cultural) responsible for this area's nomination as a Biosphere.
The review process is split into two parts.
1/ State of the Biosphere Report - sets out, using a variety of indicators how the environmental, social, economic and cultural condition of the Biosphere Reserve gas changed over the period 2002 to 2015.
2/ Periodic Review Report - sets out the work by members of the Biosphere Partnership that has taken place in and for the Biosphere in the period 2002 to 2015
These reports together provide some of the information necessary for stakeholders to consider future priorities and activities for the area that meet the needs of the Biosphere community as expressed in the Biosphere Strategy to 2022
